The UW Oshkosh campus extends its deepest condolences to everyone affected by the crash that occurred near campus last evening. While no students or employees were involved, we recognize how impactful such an event can be for those nearby. We are sharing the City of Oshkosh’s press release below, and want to remind our community that support is available through the UW Oshkosh Counseling Center or the UW Oshkosh Employee Assistance Program.

The intersection of High Ave and Wisconsin St reopened at 12:58AM.

The Oshkosh Police Department investigated a Motorcycle vs Light Truck accident at 6:39 pm that occurred in the intersection of High Ave and Wisconsin St. The motorcycle was eastbound on High Ave, and the Light Truck was southbound on Wisconsin St when they collided.

As a result of the accident, the motorcycle operator, a 27-year-old Appleton man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two others were transported to a local hospital for treatment due to injuries sustained from the accident. The intersection was closed for approximately four hours. Members of the Oshkosh Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team, Criminal Investigation Division, and Auxiliary Police responded to the scene of the accident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
