Campus Community,

Due to unpredicted freezing ground temperatures and a mixture of rain, the weather has created many slippery areas on the roads, sidewalks, and parking lots around the Oshkosh Campus.

Campus crews are out salting sidewalks, stairs, and lots. When traveling to and from campus, please do so safely and use your best judgement.  The National Weather Service is predicting that temperatures will steadily warm up throughout the afternoon which will assist in removing the severity of these slippery areas.

Below are a few tips for moving around campus safely. No matter how well snow and ice are removed from our sidewalks, parking lots, and surrounding streets, slippery spots will still appear.

Always remember to WALK LIKE A PENGUIN!

  • Pay attention to where you are walking
  • Point your toes outward and take short strides
  • Keep your hands out of your pockets to improve balance
  • Wear warm shoes with non-slip soles

If you notice an area that is consistently snow or ice-covered, please contact Facilities Management at 920-424-3466 or “Report a Safety Concern” online.

Stay Warm and Upright Titans!
