CAPP Physics Adjunct Approval Process
Step 1 | Submit the following materials to the CAPP Office:
- a recent vita (including number of years of physics teaching experience and professional activities)
- undergraduate and graduate transcripts
- a letter of recommendation from the high school principal or supervisor; and
- a statement of teaching philosophy
(Note: The physics department will receive these materials from the CAPP Office as part of the normal approval process.)
Step 2 | Satisfy all CAPP physics teaching requirements:
- an excellent teaching record
- five (5) years of full time, upper level (grades 11-12) physics-teaching experience at the level of the CAPP course to be taught (e.g., Physics 171-172)
- academic credentials sufficient to meet HLC and UW Oshkosh Policy requirements:
“A minimum of a Master’s degree for teaching courses at the Bachelor’s degree level. If the Master’s degree is in another area other than the content area, the faculty or instructional academic staff member should have at least 18 graduate credits in the content area. Faculty who do not meet these criteria must have a documented plan for completion that is approved by the relevant dean and chairperson.” (GEN 4.B.21)
