Society of Physics Students (SPS)

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) sponsors physics-related field trips, outreach events, conferences, and special speakers. You do not need to be a physics major to attend SPS meetings. The group is open to all!

SPS meetings are determined on a semester-by-semester basis to mitigate scheduling conflicts. To be added to the SPS email list, contact Dr. Bart Pritzl (SPS Faculty Advisor). For more information about SPS, please visit the UW Oshksoh SPS Facebook page*.

Past SPS activities have included: Competing in the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium (WSGC) collegiate rocketry competition, the construction of a potato cannon, a field trip to Fermilab in Chicago, and a ping-pong tournament with Chemistry and Biology clubs. Below are a couple of pictures from our Chicago trip.
