Think and create outside classroom walls
Scholarly research and creative activities help hone students’ critical thinking skills and contribute to students’ professional and personal development. Moreover, they encourage self-directed inquiry and promote the creation of new and original ideas. Students who engage in this important work improve their information literacy, enhance their writing and communication skills, and experience the reward of collaboration.

Identify Opportunities
The Office of Student Research and Creative Activity (OSRCA) maintains connections with faculty in all departments across campus. Have a primary interest? We can help you find a mentor and kickstart your project.
Get Involved
OSRCA is dedicated to helping students identify opportunities for research and creative activity, locate funding and share their work with peers and the community. Here is our OSRCA 2022 – 2023 calendar.
Share Your Work
Your work is most valuable when shared with others. We encourage students to present their work at venues such as the annual Celebration of Scholarship and Creative Activity, Research in the Rotunda, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research and the WiSys Quick Pitch. We also act as a clearinghouse for information regarding research conference opportunities, and publish student work in our undergraduate research journal, Oshkosh Scholar.
Find Funding
OSRCA helps students locate grant funding, offered both internally and through resources outside the university, to support their research ambitions. It oversees the UW Oshkosh Graduate Student/Faculty Collaborative Research Grants program, the Undergraduate Student/Faculty Collaborative Research Grants program, and an Undergraduate Small Grants program.
