Updates made to match newly renewal Animal Welfare Assurance: removal of action to table protocol and VVC process updated to use veterinary verification terminology rather than approval.

c. USDA APHIS announced the discontinuation of teachable moments by October 1, 2022.
d. Request for Information (RFI) on Flexibilities for Conducting Semiannual Animal Program Review,” is now open and closes on August 01, 2022. Release of a joint OLAW and USDA initiative in response to the 21st Century Cures Act – NOT-OD-22-114
RFI includes clarifications and flexibilities on the following:
Meeting format and conflicts of interest
Using ad hoc consultants
Timing for reviewing SOPs
Using AAALAC International site visits
30-day flexibilities
Reviewing program components on a staggered schedule over 6 months
