Directors’ Welcome
Welcome to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh School of Nursing and Health Professions. We are truly glad you are here.
Our School is home to a unique and deeply connected community of learners and professionals in Nursing, Kinesiology, Social Work, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and Medical Imaging. Each of these disciplines plays a vital role in supporting health and well-being, and together they reflect our commitment to caring for the whole person clinically, emotionally, socially, and functionally.
What makes our School special is not only the breadth of our programs, but the heart and passion behind them. Our faculty and staff are highly invested in our students, our students care deeply about those they serve, and our graduates carry that commitment into every hospital unit, community agency, clinic, rehabilitation center, laboratory, and classroom they enter. You will find a culture grounded in compassion, integrity, collaboration, and the belief that education has the power to transform lives.
We take pride in creating learning environments that are engaging, challenging, and supportive. You will learn in classrooms, simulation labs, clinical sites, community settings, and environments that reflect the realities of professional practice. Just as importantly, you will be mentored, encouraged, and pushed to discover your voice, your purpose, and your potential as a future professional and leader.
Whether you are just beginning your journey or advancing your career, you are joining a School that values connections. Connection to patients, clients, communities, and one another. We believe in preparing graduates who are not only skilled, but grounded in purpose, empathy, compassion, and advocacy.
As School Directors, we are honored to serve alongside such dedicated faculty, staff, and partners. We are continually inspired by the passion and resilience of our students. Your success, growth, and sense of belonging matter to each of us at UWO.
Thank you for considering the UWO School of Nursing and Health Professions. We invite you to explore our programs, meet our people, and envision yourself as part of our community of professionals, advocates, and leaders.
Warm regards,
Dr. Elertson and Dr. Power
