The Maestro Henri Pensis Award for Oboists
The Maestro Henri Pensis Award for Oboists was established in 1996 in the name of Professor Pensis upon the occasion of his retirement in recognition of his 30 years of service on the faculty of the Department of Music, and his 28 years as Music Director of the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra. The award will be granted to an entering freshman music major whose primary instrument is OBOE. The recipient must:
- be in the upper third of her or his graduating class
- demonstrate outstanding performance skills
- join the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra and remain a member in good standing of that organization
