I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Library Science at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I also have an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin Sheboygan.
I have worked at UW Oshkosh Polk Library for over 30 years, starting out as Weekend/Night supervisor at the Circulation Desk and moved to more technical positions, currently supporting desktop functions throughout the library. From main frame support to desktop support, my position at Polk Library has changed over the years as technology has played a larger role in libraries. I have been involved in the Wisconsin Library Association and the American Library Association in leadership positions at group level and served as Secretary of WLA. Over the years I presented at Library Support Staff conferences within Wisconsin and outside of the state.
On campus I have worked on many committees over the years including the EAP Advisory Board, Classified Staff Awards and Recognition Committee and numerous Search and Screen committees. I helped develop and implement the UW Oshkosh Classified Staff Advisory Council, where I served several terms. In the community I have served as a Red Cross volunteer. I'm involved in my church, union, various political groups in Oshkosh and always look forward to my weekly knitting group. Statewide, I hold a position on the Wisconsin Humanities Council. I have been a board member with the Wisconsin State Employees Union for over 15 years and currently serve as the statewide President.
