Interlibrary Loan
Technical Services

I graduated from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a degree in Special Education. I taught special education for 5 years. I have post graduated classes in learning disabilities. During my college days, I learned American Sign Language and tutored deaf/hard of hearing in the Oshkosh School System.

I started at Polk Library as an LTE in 1984 working evenings on the Retro Conversion project. I was a substitute teacher in the Oshkosh School System specializing in  special education and Deaf/Hard of Hearing classes.I worked many LTE positions at Polk in library departments including the Students Instructional Center (except Government Documents). In 1990 I was hired as a permanent employee in circulation as the night superior for several years before transferring to days.. In 1996 I moved to Inter Library Loan where I am happily serving the patrons of UWO Polk Library to the present day.

I have served on many UWO committees-Parking,and committees for campus search and screens.. I won the Classified Staff Star award in September of 2003 for bring back the observance of National Library Week which I organize the the present day. I have served as chair and committee member of the programs committee for Classified Staff Development and Appreciation day since it's start in 2000.  I was one of the founding members for the NO MONEY committee for Polk Library. So named because the library director would patiently listen the ideas of the committee to promote and publicize the library and say " It is a good idea but we don't have any money for that"( we specialize in cheap).  The committee created Murder-in-the-stack which introduces freshman every year to Polk Library while solving an interactive "murder"all in 2 1/2 hours from scream to handcuffs. I have helped person the Polk Library table at UWO Taste Of Oshkosh for many years through finger numbing cold and sunburning heat and organize the prize drawing. Interlibrary Loan participated in the Youth- at- Risk  job experience  program. I trained and mentored 1 teen mom, 1 Hmong deaf girl( used my sign language ) and 2 Ausberger Sydrome boys. Helped originate and organize the Annual Polk Library Media/Book Swap. I have served on the Board of the Lutheran Campus Ministry. I have been a volunteer home delivered of books from the Oshkosh Public Library.  I am an active Altar Guild member of St John's Lutheran Church to which I have belonged all my life.
