In 2006, the LGBTQ Education and Advocacy council put forth the proposal for the LGBTQ Resource Center with the help and support from the Rainbow Alliance for H.O.P.E. and other various allies on campus.  In the fall of 2008, the LGBTQ Resource Center opened its doors to the UWO community in hopes to provide lgbtq+ programs and services to the community.

Then in January 2015, the LGBTQ Resource Center transitioned into their new and improved space.   This new space is still located on the lower level of the center for Equity and Diversity but now provides the space, facilities and offers more support and resources to the UWO community.
