Athletic Training Transition to Master of Science Program

The Athletic Training program at UW Oshkosh is in the process of transitioning the undergraduate major in Athletic Training (currently a Bachelors of Science (BS) professional degree) to the graduate level.   Therefore, a Master of Science (MS) professional degree has been proposed. The new MS in Athletic Training has received approval at all campus and system levels. It is awaiting final HLC approval and is scheduled to begin in the Summer of 2019.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will be maintaining Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation for the professional athletic training program throughout the degree transition.

The last admissions cohort to be accepted into the BS in Athletic Training degree was at the end of the Spring 2017 semester (June 2017).  The first graduate cohort is scheduled to begin in the Summer 2019 semester and is a two year long program.  Since the new MS program has secondary admissions for prospective students, prospective freshman interested in Athletic Training should inquire about the undergraduate Kinesiology major as a route to the graduate Athletic Training program.

More information and details can be obtained by contacting Robert Sipes (), Athletic Training Program Director.   Admissions and application information for the graduate program will be available after HLC accreditation approval.
