Our Mission
The mission of the Inter-Tribal Student Council is to promote education and cultural awareness through involvement with social activities, academics and community outreach for the general student body, local community and administration of UW Oshkosh.
What We Do
Our council provides social support and opportunities to forge new friendships with like-minded peers. The Inter-Tribal Student Council also focuses on teamwork and leadership development to prepare students for life in college and beyond. The council provides learning experiences concerning diversity and richness of indigenous cultures, and it provides an opportunity for indigenous students to voice their issues and concerns in a supportive atmosphere.
Our Objectives
Our objectives are to act as an advocate for an Indigenous Studies Program at UW Oshkosh; to act as an advocacy group for Native American issues and concerns; to coordinate efforts to work jointly with other student organizations and academic departments in special events; to recruit and retain Native American students for UW Oshkosh; and to have fun!
Group Activities
Activities include student conferences (in state and out of state), guest speakers, hands-on workshops, cultural programs and social activities.
