Titan Traditions

Each year, UW Oshkosh has several popular events that keep coming back in high demand! Get involved with many of our favorite traditions.

Titan Welcome

These first weeks include activities that introduce you to life at UW Oshkosh. Titan Welcome is a rich tradition at UWO and it is about building relationships with your fellow classmates, connecting with faculty/staff and returning students, becoming more acclimated to campus life, celebrating Titan spirit and pride and having fun! Notable events during Titan Welcome have included Rec Fest, Titan Fest and Reeve Union Board (RUB) events.

Students are invited to participate in several fun events taking place on campus throughout the week, including a comedy show, house/hall decorating contest and more.

Taste of Nations

Taste of Nations is held in Reeve Memorial Union often throughout the academic year. Partnering with the Office of International Education, Reeve Union, University Dining and Aladdin, Taste of Nations brings an educational programming session accompanied with authentic cuisine that focuses on a particular foreign country or region.

Alternative Break Trips

Alternative Break, a program of Reeve Union Student Involvement, sends teams of 9-12 college students to engage in community-based service projects during winter or spring break, providing opportunities for students to learn about the problems faced by members of communities with whom they may otherwise have had little or no direct contact. This immersion in diverse environments enables students to experience, discuss, and understand social issues in a significant way, ultimately, moving students towards action to make a positive impact.

In addition to a delicious breakfast meal served by UW Oshkosh administration, there are activities and prizes for students to take part in. Activities have included things like airbrush tattoos, photo booths, games and more!

Winter Carnival

An annual week-long celebration of winter that has been a part of UW Oshkosh traditions for over 50 years. Events have traditionally included ice sculpture carving, trivia night, the awards ceremony and more. Each year is a new theme!

Bye Gosh Fest

The culminating event of the year, with food, inflatables, singers, henna, caricatures, and a headliner you don’t want to miss! Free with TitanCard.

Summer Scoops

Join Reeve Union for a delicious cold treat every Tuesday during the summer! Each week, a different department helps scoop rotating flavors of ice cream. This campus tradition is a favorite way to cool down and see your campus friends during the summer.
