Convocation Recap 22

Dear University community,

Yesterday, we opened the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s academic year by renewing our commitment to importance and value of a college education in an ever changing landscape. In addition to getting students to UW Oshkosh we also need to embrace our duty to retain students amid unprecedented challenges to ensure their success.

It was also my distinct pleasure to introduce UW System president Jay Rothman to our campus, and some of our amazing students, faculty and staff.

For anyone who missed yesterday’s event, we invite you to visit  uwo.sh/openingday to listen to our Convocation presentation with remarks by the UW System President Jay Rothman and Provost John Koker. Or read our UW Oshkosh today story with event hightlights.

A quick reminder, You are invited to join us next Tuesday, Sept. 6 in the Culver Family Welcome Center to celebrate the many contributions of our faculty and staff. In addition to the traditional opening day awards we will recognize over 200 employees who have reached length of service milestones.  For those unable to join us in person you are welcome to watch the Honors Livestream

My sincere thank you to all of you as we continue to bring innovation and adaptation to the forefront of our efforts in teaching, service and research.

Have a great year!
