Overview:
Our Project Management team follows the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct which outlines the four values that drive our work: Honesty, Responsibility, Respect and Fairness.
We define a ‘Project’ as an activity that 1). has a defined start and end date, and 2). delivers a product or value to the customer. We have implemented five basic phases of project management into our process: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Performance & Monitoring, and Close-Out. We define them below:
-
- Initiation: Project Manager will work with the Executive Sponsor or Team Lead to set the project goals/deliverables, identify stakeholders and workgroup members, create a project charge, and develop the project scope and budget.
- Planning: Project Manager supports the Team Lead in more detailed planning including creation of a task/subtask listing, timeline development, and resource assignment. Components from the first two Phases are collectively known as the Project Plan.
- Execution: The assigned workgroup complete tasks following the project plan. The Project Manager manages communications and ensures quality standards are met. Ongoing workgroup or subgroup meetings, as needed.
- Monitoring & Control: Progress toward the project goals/deliverables is achieved, barriers to progress are identified and corrected. Project Manager keeps stakeholders updated on project progress.
- Close-Out: Project is finalized, deliverables are achieved. A Recommendations report may be provided depending on the project type.
