UW SYSTEM (SYS) POLICY ACTIONS

New UW System Interim Policy
Interim Policy Statement: The effective date of SYS 655, Accessibility of Web Content and Digital Applications, and the related Accessibility of Web Content and Digital Applications Guidance is extended from April 1, 2026 to April 26, 2027. This aligns with the federal rule on the Extension of Compliance Dates for Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability; Accessibility of Web Information and Services of State and Local Government Entities that extends the deadline for fulfilling Title II digital accessibility standards by one year.
Leading up to April 26, 2027, campuses are expected to work on updating their existing web content and mobile applications and their processes to be compliant with this policy by the effective date.
