UW–Oshkosh is pleased to relaunch Employee Educational Assistance for employees, reinforcing our commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and career development. This benefit supports employees who want to build new skills, strengthen job performance, or pursue coursework that advances their career at UW–Oshkosh.

What Is Employee Educational Assistance?

Employee Educational Assistance provides tuition reimbursement for job-related coursework and training taken at UW–Oshkosh.

  • Enhances current job performance
  • Builds knowledge or skills required for your role or profession
  • Supports career development and advancement at UW–Oshkosh
  • Aligns with institutional needs and priorities

Note: This benefit is offered at the discretion of the university and is subject to available funding.

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you:

  • Hold a 50% or greater appointment
  • Have completed six months of continuous service
  • Are Faculty, Academic Staff, Limited Appointee, or University Staff

Note: The program does not apply to temporary employees, student employees, or graduate assistants.

What’s Covered

  1. Up to 6 credits per term (Fall, Spring, or Summer) – starting Fall 2026
  2. 100% of the current UW–Oshkosh tuition rate
  3. Courses must be taken at UW–Oshkosh
  4. Segregated fees are waived
  5. Financial aid received for the course will be deducted

How to Use the Program

  • Review coursework to ensure it supports your job-related or career goals.
  • Submit the Employee Tuition/Coursework or Training Request Form to your supervisor.
  • You will be notified once your request has been approved.
  • Complete the course successfully (A, B, or C).
  • Submit reimbursement through Workday within 90 days of course end date.

Note: Employees are responsible for coordinating segregated fee waivers and submitting complete documentation.

Important Reminders

  • Courses are typically taken outside of work hours unless flexible arrangements are approved
  • Employees who voluntarily leave UW–Oshkosh within 12 months must repay reimbursement
  • Duplicate funding for the same course is not permitted
  • Educational assistance over $5,250/year is taxable and reported on W-2
