Suite Amenities

Horizon Village has 4 different suite options. All suites will have 4 students living in them. Some suites will have two bedrooms, where others have 4 bedrooms. There are also Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility suites with each the 2 bedroom and 4 bedroom options. Hall Amenities

Common Space

Horizon Village will have a variety of common spaces that can be used for a veriety of functions. The following spaces will be open for use by any resident of Horizon Village. To access these spaces all you will need is your Titan ID to access the floor or room.

 

Floor Lounges

Each floor will have 3 floor lounges for residents to use. There is a lounge at each end of the floor. These lounges include soft furniture for residents to relax, spend time with friends or study. There is also one lounge located in the middle of each floor across from the elevators. These lounges include soft furniture and a full kitchen for residents to use.

 

Floor Kitchens

The main lounge on each floor will have a full kitchen for residents use.These kitchens include the following:

  • Full sized Refrigerator
  • Freezer
  • Range
  • Sink
  • Dishwasher

The following guidelines need to be followed while using these kitchens.

  • The first group in the kitchen gets to use the space, however more than one group can use it at a time if they are using different items.
  • Clean up after yourself – you must clean up the space after you are done using it.
  • Clean your equipment. (If renting it from the front desk it must be cleaned before it is returned)
  • Use proper soap in the dishwasher (soap will be available)
  • Empty the dishwasher when you are finished
  • Do not leave items unattended in the oven, on the stove, in the pizza oven, or in the dishwasher.

 

Fireplace Lounge

In the main lobby there is a fireplace. The bricks of this fireplace are taken from Clemans Hall. In order to use the Fire Place you must follow the steps below.

Recreation Lounge

The Recreation Lounge includes soft furniture and recreation equipment such as pool tables. This space is open for the use of residents, but also may be reserved for programmatic use (see space reservation policies below).

 

Recreation Lounge Kitchen

Off of the Recreation Lounge there is a full sized commercial kitchen. This space can be used for programs and events taking place in the Recreation Lounge. This space must be reserved if you would like exclusive use of this space for a program or event. (See space reservation policies below)

 

Recreation Lounge Patio

There are also common spaces that will be open to residents of the building as well as others from the Campus and Oshkosh Community. These spaces must be reserved in order to have exclusive use for a program or event. (See Space Reservation policies below)

 

Study Lounge

Located on the First Floor across from the Recreation Lounge, the Study Lounge offers students with soft furniture and tables to study, meet with other students, or relax. These spaces must be reserved in order to have exclusive use for a program or event. (See Space Reservation policies below)

 

TV Lounge

Located in the center of the basement next to the Laundry Room, the TV Lounge offers soft furniture for students a place to relax with others or on their own. There is also a window that looks into the Laundry room so students can see when their laundry is ready.

 

Conference Rooms

There are three conference rooms located in the basement level of Horizon Village. Below are the specifications of each room

Nelson Room (rm #043) – 12 people capacity
Breese Room A (rm #045) – 10 people capacity
Breese Room B (rm #049) – 12 people capacity
Breese Room (rm #045 & 049) – 22 people capacity
Clemans Room (rm #046) – 8 people capacity

 

Space Reservation Policies

In order to reserve a room or space in Horizon Village you must be affiliated with the building in some way. Either a staff member, Hall Leader, or Resident. If you are not affiliated with the building your space reservation request will have to be approved by the Hall Council of Horizon Village.

To request a space reservation in Horizon Village log into the MyUWOPortal app and request the date/time in the Room Res app. A response will be emailed to you shortly. 

 

Outdoor space (Outdoor theater, etc.)

Located to the west of Horizon Village, between the building and Reeve Union, there is an outdoor theatre and Volleyball court. To use this space for a program, event or just to enjoy the outdoors with friends contact Reeve Union to reserve the space.

 

Other Hall Amenities Space

Bike Room

The bike room is located in the basement level of the building. It is right next to the North West Entrance. The room has Storage Space for 80 bikes.

 

Printing

Located at the Front Desk students will have the ability to print items that they need. Residents can download software from their student portal to print directly from their person computers.

 

Laundry Room

The laundry room is located in the center of the basement level of the building. It includes 8 washers, 8 dryers, and folding space. Each load of laundry costs $1.50 for wash and $1.50 for dry. The machines can be operated by Titan Dollars.

 

Vending

Vending machines are available to students of the building. They are located in the middle of the basement, right outside the laundry room.

The vending machines will accept cash or Titan Dollars
