Life as a Tall Girl, an article by Becky Thomas appeared in the New York Times Well column. Becky wrote this first-person essay in my Feature Writing class. Her wonderful piece garnered national attention from the NBC Today Show, which sent a crew to Oshkosh to tape her. Then the show brought her to New York City for a studio taping. NPR Talk of the Nation also called. Becky appeared with Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Jane Smiley, also a tall girl, on Great Heights: 6-Foot-Plus Women on Standing Tall.
