UW Oshkosh Nonresident Resources

To ensure students feel empowered to pursue their higher education goals, UW Oshkosh has multiple programs and scholarships that make college more accessible and affordable. The options listed below are tailored specifically for U.S. students residing outside of the state of Wisconsin.

Join us as a Titan National Scholar!

Titan National Scholar (TNS) is an impressive scholarship program that benefits students over the course of four years. Those who qualify for this program will save nearly $8,000 per year (cumulative total of over $30,000). No application is necessary, and recipients are contacted directly by the Admissions Office.

Who is eligible for this program?

Out-of-state students (exluding Minnesota residents) who meet the following high school gpa requirements are eligible for TNS:

2.6 for first-year students (Oshkosh campus)
2.5 for first-year students (Fox/FDL campuses)
3.0 for transfer students
*based on a cumulative, unweighted, 4-point scale

If you are a legal resident of the United States who meets the gpa requirement and lives outside of Wisconsin and Minnesota, you will automatically qualify as a Titan National Scholar. There is no application, and the Admissions office will be in touch with you shortly after your acceptance to confirm your TNS status.

The following are not eligible for the Titan National Scholar program:
– students who are eligible for Minnesota Reciprocity (more information on this below)
– international students
– students in online or specialty programs
– students who do not meet the minimum gpa requirements

Is this only available for a limited number of students?

No. UW Oshkosh does not limit the number of students who receive the Titan National Scholar award, provided they meet the academic eligibility requirements.

The program is available to all students, with the exception of those eligible to apply for Minnesota reciprocity, international students, students who do not meet the minimum gpa criteria, and students participating in online or specialty programs.

Is TNS open to all majors?

Yes. All majors are eligible. The only exclusions are online degrees and specialty programs.

Minnesota Reciprocity

Minnesota residents may apply for reciprocity benefits. For an in-depth look at eligibility factors and access to the full application, visit this website. Those who qualify for this program save an average of over $6,000 per year (cumulative total of over $24,000).

Midwest States Tuition Rate

Those who are not eligible to be a Titan National Scholar or receive Minnesota Reciprocity may still qualify for the Midwest States Tuition Rate. Recipients of this award save an average of over $3,000 per year (cumulative total of over $12,000). Residents of the following states are included: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and South Dakota. No application is necessary, and there is no minimum gpa requirement to qualify.
