Fox Valley Concert Band
March 21, 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, March 21, 7:30 pm, the Fox Valley Concert Band and conductor Dr. Marc Sackman will present its Winter Concert in Perry Hall on the UW Oshkosh Fox Cities campus. The concert is free and open to the public. Our featured soloist will be UWO Music Faculty Kirstin Ihde on the piano solo in George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Also on the program will be Symphony #1 by Timothy Mahr, and Morton Gould’s American Salute. March 21 is J.S Bach’s 340th birthday, so the band will perform an arrangement of a chorale as harmonized by Bach. The night’s march will be Semper Fidelis by John Philip Sousa (his personal favorite of his many marches).
