Gifts made by check

The IRS has stated that a charitable gift made by check is complete at the time the check is delivered or mailed, and the postmark is evidence of the gift date.

Gifts delivered by overnight courier, e.g., Federal Express, UPS, etc., are deemed to have been made when they are delivered.

In order for your donation to the UW Oshkosh Foundation to be considered a tax-deductible charitable donation for the current year, it must be received or postmarked on/before December 31.

All gifts made by check should be made out to: UW Oshkosh Foundation and can be mailed to:

UW Oshkosh Foundation
625 Pearl Ave.
Oshkosh, WI 54901-3556

In order to further specify how you'd like your gift to be used, please either include a letter specifying the desired designation of your gift, or write your desired gift designation on the memo line of your check.
