The Foundation encourages your fundraising efforts, and we are eager to help you conduct a successful and lawful raffle. The following checklist has been established to help us keep our raffles in compliance with our state license. Please use the information below when conducting a raffle.
Class A Raffle (defined as advanced ticket sales)
- Fill out the raffle Pre-Approval Application and submit it to the Executive Director of UWO Foundation for review. The raffle application must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the raffle.
- Class A raffles must have pre-printed raffle tickets. You must work with the UWO Marketing and Communications Department to design and print raffle tickets. A final draft must be approved by the UWO Foundation prior to printing the tickets.
- Once raffle tickets are approved by the Foundation Executive Director, you may begin selling them.
Class B Raffle (defined as on-site, one-day ticket sales)
- Fill out the raffle Pre-Approval Application and submit it to the Executive Director of UWO Foundation for review. The raffle application must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the raffle.
- Once the raffle application is approved, you may begin selling
Upon Completion of the Raffle
- Submit the Raffle Financial Report within seven days of completion of the raffle. Please attach receipts if there were any expenses related to conducting this raffle.
- Complete the Raffle Payment Information Sheet for each winning raffle ticket holder. All losing tickets for Class A raffles must be kept and bundled in 100’s. For Class B raffles, only the winning tickets need to be kept and returned. Return tickets to the Foundation when submitting the final paperwork.
