Handling samples, other laboratory materials, and equipment will require you to wear sterile gloves (provided in the lab) or
cleaning your hands throughly with hand sanitizer (provided in the lab room).

Laboratory Schedule:

Lab meets Friday's from 9:10 - 11:20 PM in Harrington Hall 313.

Required for Lab: 10x-hand lens, textbook (see below), notebook.

Oct. 22 Field trip sample analyses.
Oct. 29 Paleoecology: Biological effects on sedimentation 1 (*chp. 4).
Nov. 5 Paleoecology: Biological effects on sedimentation II (*chp. 4).
Nov. 12 Biochemical sediments and rock classification and description I (*chp. 6).
Nov. 19 Carbonate sediments and rock classification and description II (*chps. 6 & 11).
Nov. 26 No Lab -- Thanksgiving Break
Dec. 3 Carbonate sediments and rock classification and description III (*chps. 6 & 11).
Dec. 10 Introduction to sedimentary petrography: carbonate rock diagenesis (*chp. 6).
Dec. 17 No Lab
