Welcome to Dr. Elizabeth (Za) Barron's website!
Dr. Barron is an environmental geographer whose research centers on the belief that incorporating multiple ways of knowing the world around us is the best way to address human-environmental problems. After working on fungal conservation and biodiversity for the last several years, she is now transitioning to a new project on sustainability in the Fox River Watershed. As the principal investigator for the FORWAR+DS in Place project, she is developing the emplacement framework and coordinating with five additional UWO faculty on sustainability research in the region. Dr. Barron is serving as the Associate Director of the Sustainability Institute for Regional Transformations from 2017 - 2019.
