Study Abroad with the Department of English

Study tours offered by the Department of English afford students the wonderful opportunity to combine their classroom reading and writing with a life-changing experiential component. See below for details about the current study tours offered by the department, as well as those offered in more recent years.

Study Tours 2018-2019

Spring 2019: Make Ireland your destination for study abroad! Explore the beauty of ancient castles, rocky coasts and historic cities. Our tour will spend one week in the Burren along the wild and rugged Atlantic coast, where you will encounter small towns rich with legend, heritage and tradition. You will then travel to Dublin, a cosmopolitan city and the center of Irish art, culture and politics. In this course, we will study literary works, essays, speeches, documents, images and films that illuminate the relationship between history, the environment and society. In addition, You'll learn some Irish words. Inspiring partnerships and unforgettable scenery will help you fulfill your Quest III course requirements while also earning USP English credits!
