Beginning with the Summer 2019 term, D2L will no longer be used to access online course materials.  Materials will be available in the new Canvas environment.  Please login to Canvas with your NetID via the Canvas Login Page

Written Instructions

  1. Go into the new, empty course.
  2. Click Edit Course in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Import/Export/Copy from the list of tools
  4. Your materials already reside somewhere in D2L, so click the radio button next to Copy Components from another Org Unit.
  5. Click the "Search For Offering" Button
  6. A new screen will be displayed.  Click the magnifying glass icon in the search box to display a list of courses for which you have been enrolled as "instructor".  Click the selector button next to the course you would like to copy, then the Add Selected button at the bottom of the screen.
    Note: The table can be sorted by clicking the appropriate column heading.  A Search box is also available to make finding the course easy.
  7. Decide if you want to copy all the course components or if you only want to copy some components.  Click the appropriate button towards the bottom of the screen.
    Note: If you choose to Copy All Components, your copy job will be placed in a short que.  It will take a minute or so while your course is copied, when the process is complete your components will be available in the new course.
  8. If you click the "Select Components" button.  The screen will change to a list of components used in the previous course.  Click the checkboxes next to the components you would like to copy and click the Continue button.  Note: If you choose Content, you must also choose "Course Files".  If you do not select both options, your content will not copy correctly.
  9. The screen will change.  Click the "Finish" button to confirm the components to copy.
  10. The copying process will begin, as each component completes, a green checkmark will appear next to the component. 
  11. When the copying process has been completed for all components, access other areas of the D2L course to verify the components successfully copied.
