If you need help with a specific course, please give us your 7-digit course OU# when emailing or calling. The OU# (organizational unit number) is a unique identifier D2L creates for your course.

D2L gives instructors the ability to record short (6-minute) audio clips and attach them to news items, discussions, when creating a dropbox, or leaving feedback in the dropbox area.

Notifications allow a user to receive emails when certain actions are taken in a course. For example, you can receive email notification when a news item is added or updated, an updated count of new discussion posts, or a reminder before a dropbox closes.

If you have a crosslisted or multi-sectioned course, the two separate sites can be combined into one site. Combining course sections allows you to have all of your students and course materials in one convenient location. Combining D2L course sites will also combine your D2L-linked Library Course Pages into one page, with library resources (e-reserves, reference databases, etc.) for that course. Please click the link below to complete the Combination Request form. NOTE: You will be prompted to login with your NetID before you can complete the form.

Course materials can be exported from D2L and saved, the package can then be imported at a later time or into another instance of D2L. Student data, such as grades, discussion posts, and dropbox submissions are NOT included in the exported files.

Replace strings are a way for instructors to personalize communications with students. Instead of having to type pieces of information that is specific to each student, the instructor types in a generic piece of information (Example: Dear First Name). D2L then inserts the specific piece of information for the correct individual (Example: Dear John).
