Suicide Awareness

A big part of what we do at the UW-Oshkosh Counseling Center is to do outreach and prevention work in the area of suicide awareness.

Titans Care is the marketing slogan behind our suicide awareness campaign. You will find this title on things such as our yard signs around campus, giveaways at events and tablings, and on posters for events that we are hosting or co-sponsoring. Titans Care is the message that we care about the well-being and success of all students here at UW-Oshkosh. It is our hope to ignite a campus of care, where we rally all of the amazing faculty, staff, and students that are committed to the well-being of students to enhance suicide awareness and prevention work. We know that when we all work together, we can support the flourishing of all students.

Lastly, you’ll find that our Suicide Prevention Training page will provide details and link to trainings available for students and faculty/staff about learning the warning signs that someone is experiencing suicidal thoughts/a suicidal crisis, how to respond, and how and when to refer for more support. The Recognize, Respond, Refer (RRR) training is supported by the Universities of Wisconsin.
