Doctor of Nursing Practice
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Emphasis

BSN to DNP Program

The Doctor of Nursing Practice–Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP) Emphasis is a 74-credit BSN to DNP program offered in a full-time (three-year) or part-time (four-year) plan of study. This hybrid program prepares graduates for the highest level of nursing practice by integrating courses in evidence-based practice, informatics, leadership, collaboration, and knowledge of systems and healthcare policy with specialized PMHNP education. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the PMHNP certification examination.

In addition to online coursework, students complete 1,008 hours in PMHNP clinical settings and attend in-person classes on 3-4 Mondays during the fall and spring semesters. All summer coursework is online. This DNP program culminates in an intensive PMHNP residency immersion and completion of a scholarly project.
