Getting started with Plone

This week was my first experience with Plone. I don't really know what it is. To me it seems like a frame-work that is used to build websites but I am unsure. During the coming week I will be researching the background and purpose of Plone along with attempting more of the tutorials provided by Plone if time allows. So far I have downloaded a pre-configured virtual machine provided by my professor and installed Plone on it by following the steps in Plone's get started guide. An issue that stalled my progress was not knowing the virtual machine's credentials so I began to research ways for me to reset them. After going back through some information my professor gave us for this project I found out he had given us the credentials to this virtual machine that I over-looked before. Now all is well. I have Plone installed on my virtual machine and am excited to go more in depth exploring this project in the coming weeks.
