Finishing up individual project progressing with group project.

We read Martin Fowler's "GUI Architecture" and learned about  flow synchronization and observer synchronization as well as design patterns like MVC. In lab we explored a demo that showed us Spring’s implementation of the MVC design pattern. I completed my individual lab of modifying code that displays a spreadsheet. For my group project I looked closer at EasyForms trying to come up with more specific questions to ask Kim.

For obstacles I had trouble with my individual project and understanding the code, but I was able solve my problems using discussions online. I also had a little trouble researching my group's project. A lot of Plone's websites are not updated with Plone 5 images but luckily most descriptions or tutorials were descriptive enough that I could find what I was looking for.

I learned benefits of an MVC architecture is separation of data from view. Separation helps a program and business limits mistakes and code breaking. After having explored Plone and the add-on EasyForms more my group talked to Kim about our next steps and got a clearer understanding of what needs to be learned and completed for our project.

My goals for next week is to learn more about how plone saves data through adapters. I will look at EasyForm's code and try to create an adapter that would save data for our chart to use.
