Blog entry for week ending April 21st

This week we learned about JSON. JSON is used to transmit data between a server and an application. This week in lab we practiced using JSON through using Flask and Postman. I had problems with using postman on the schools windows computers. For some reason it did not like when we tried to pass in a JSON object. So I switched over to Linux, but I was having problems using Postman on Linux because it uses a lot disk space and I did not have enough. As a result I started deleting stuff and I emptied my cache. This cleared up enough space to download Postman. I was able to get through the first 8 steps of our lab with no problems, which were logging in, changing the password to login, creating new accounts, and deleting users. But then when I got to step 9, which was making a REST request to the server that we had created a few weeks ago I realized that in the process of making enough room on my computer to download Postman I deleted this server. My goal before next Wednesday is to make another server and then complete this last step.

Before next week I plan on working on the CSS for my group project. I also plan on reading a tutorial on REST by Todd Fredrich and answer the the discussion question.
