Blog Entry for the Week Ending March 31st

by Hilgendorf, Grady last modified Mar 31, 2017 08:08 PM
A re-cap of things that I did during this week, problems I have run into, and what I plan to accomplish before the next post. Week 1: March 27th - March 31st.

Class Progress

MVC design pattern

This weeks programming practice was working with the Model View Controler pattern. The main framework of programming we were using was called Spring. The focal point of the exercise was to edit an existing MVC design to accept a new input along with the old one while keeping the same style of coding.

Team Project

Our Generic installer of Plone for Windows and Linux is coming along nicely. We have our scripts made for testing and even have a simple GUI, direct from the pyinstaller code, which we are mocking up. The GUI will inform the user of what the program is installing on their computer and will hopefully have a progress bar for showing how far the installation has progressed.

Individual Project

My Individual project is complete and the report is almost finished. The stair counter that I have added seems like it will work but I found that I have no data to test it on and therefore don't really know if it is capable of counting stairs or not. I have given it my best shot at the research into the acceleration for the movement of walking up a stair. I have given it my best guess on what the maximum and minimum should be for the action but that's the best I could do.

Goal for Next week

These next few weeks I will be more focused on the group project as I am helping view the python scripts that we are making. These past few days have been stressful and the stress will continue to put pressure on me.
