Blog Entry for the Week Ending April 14th

by Hilgendorf, Grady last modified Apr 14, 2017 02:32 PM
A re-cap of things that I did during this week, problems I have run into, and what I plan to accomplish before the next post. Week: April 9th - April 14th.

Class Progress

DAO (Data Acess Object) & Hibernate

This week I was given a task to add a JavaBean to an existing project using Hibernate. I had to add an Author bean and use that bean to create a table. that table was then populated to be able to run queries on. I also was able to add an author to a book, as books are written by at least one author. The hard thing about the little toy was that the directory was hard to navigate.

Team Project

We are making great progress through our general installer for Plone. All of the commands to run the Plone install have been completed along with the bash shell commands to initialize the right environment to run the install on. The next thing we are working on is making the installer start back up after restarting the machine.

Individual Project

I have completed the work for my pedometer project and resubmitted the report on the trouble and things I have learned after I found a threshold that is just above the threshold or the low bar for a walking step.

Goal for Next week

As a group, we are hoping to have our installer working after the restart and then make the GUI look nice. As for personally, I have other work that I need to complete that I plan to start on Sunday.

I am proud to say that I have caught up on all projects and only have a few things that I need to do in the coming week.
