Be the Student Commencement Speaker
Want to represent your graduating class on the big stage? Apply to share your story and inspire your fellow Titans.
How to Apply
- Complete the Commencement Speaker application (below).
- Upload a draft of your speech (no longer than 5 minutes).
- Attach your resume.
- Provide contact info for two references (one must be from your major).
- Submit a short video (see details below).
Video
Record yourself answering two questions and delivering your speech:
- What has been your most important UW-Oshkosh moment?
- As an alum, what will you share with others about your time here?
Keep it simple–no heavy editing needed. Upload to YouTube and paste the shareable link in the application below (make sure it’s set to public or unlisted so the committee can view without permission requests).
Deadline
Applications, including your video, are due Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.
What Happens Next
The Graduation Awards Committee reviews all submissions and invites finalists for a short interview. Watch for an email from Allison Kunde with interview details if you’re selected as a finalist.
If You’re Selected
You’ll work with a UW-Oshkosh speech coach to provide guidance on preparing and delivering your remarks. A brief rehearsal will be held before the ceremony to allow you to practice your speech.
