Commencement Attire
Students participating in the commencement ceremony are required to wear academic attire (cap, gown and tassel) for the commencement ceremony.
How to Purchase
- Online: Order regalia anytime through the University Books & More website. To ensure enough time for shipping, we recommend placing your order at least two weeks in advance.
- In-Store: Regalia is also available for purchase in-person at University Books & More through December 13, 2025.

Upon receipt of your gown, remove it from the packaging and hang it up. To help remove wrinkles, hang the gown in a steamy bathroom or use a steamer. Be careful to not place the steamer too close to the gown fabric and DO NOT use an iron. Should the gown fabric get too close to a hot steamer or iron, the fabric will be damaged.

Full undergraduate attire consists of a bachelor’s gown, mortarboard and tassel. Tassel colors are:

Bachelor of
- Applied Studies: Crimson
- Arts: White
- Business Administration: Drab
- Fine Arts: Brown
- Music: Pink
- Music Education: Light Blue
- Professional Studies: Crimson
- Science: Gold
- Science in Education: Light Blue
- Science in Nursing: Apricot
- Social Work: Citron
Masters Attire
Master’s attire consists of a master’s gown, hood, mortarboard and tassel.
The tassel color for all graduate students is black.
Hood colors:
- Business Administration: Drab (beige)
- Education: Light Blue
- English: White
- Nursing: Apricot
- Public Administration: Peacock Blue
- Science: Gold
- Social Work: Citron
Doctoral Attire
Attire for the Doctor of Nursing Practice or the Educational Doctorate degrees consists of a doctoral gown, hood, tam and tassel.
How to Rent Doctoral Attire:
Doctoral graduates must email bookstore@uwosh.edu to place a rental order. Please include the following information in your message:
- First and last name
- Degree
- Height and weight
- Cap size
- Field of study
Attire will be available for pickup at University Books & More and must be returned by December 18, 2025.
