DEAN’S NOTE
Happy New Year, everyone! Some happy news to share: yesterday, Chancellor Leavitt presented this month’s STAR Award to all twelve of our COLS department assistants: Claire Armstrong, Kristina Mosley, Christie Demosthenous, Courtney Maron, Kelly Lippert, Deb Suess, Julie Nelson, Ashley Elmer, Terry Rudolph, Amy Rogge, Angelee Hammond, and Melissa Giddings. Brad Spanbauer nominated them collectively for their hard work on last summer’s campus cleanup. If you get a chance, please congratulate your local DA!

- David Siemers (Political Science) published a book chapter titled “‘A Faultless Plan was not to be Expected’: James Madison and the Separation of Powers” in the book James Madison’s Constitution: A Double Security and a Parchment Barrier, University of Georgia Press, Eric T. Kasper and Howard Schweber, eds.
- Shahid Mohammad (Mathematics) has published “Modeling actuarial data using iterated trigonometric distributions” in Communications in Statistics – Theory and Methods.
