Michelle Henderson
Master of Arts in Community Mental Health Counseling and Higher Education Counseling | Lakeland University (2012)
I have served in numerous roles in higher education, including the campus’ mental health and career counselor, academic advisor, disability services coordinator, placement test administrator, student club advisor, tutor center director, and peer mentoring coordinator. I am very interested in processes and programs that drive student engagement and that support the student’s personal, social and academic success.
I grew up in a small town in central Iowa and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa – Go Hawks! I enjoy the outdoors, especially riding the ATV trails in Northern Wisconsin. I have two children – Jordan, a graduate of UW La Crosse and will soon be attending Medical School; and Stephanie, an undergraduate student at UW Green Bay where she is on the Dance Team and hopes to one day work in forensics and profiling. I enjoy time with family, friends, and my dog who keep me grounded and balanced. I am very excited to be a part of the UWO Department of Professional Counseling.
