Teaching continues to provide me with many stimulating opportunities for learning. I began as a first grade teacher in an all white suburb outside Chicago, taught preschool in a Jewish Community center and then went on to teaching college students who would become future early childhood teachers. Currently my activities include teaching on-line which involves learning many new technology skills and teaching skills such as establishing rapport with online students.

My scholarly pursuits includes a chapter which I co-authored with Lou Chicquette, "Play and Learning in Wisconsin." The purpose of this chapter is to describe play and learning in the United States of America, specifically through a representative population of five toddlers in child care centers located in Northeastern Wisconsin. This chapter will be included in an International Book on Play.

Received a 2005-2006 UW Oshkosh Undergraduate Student and Faculty Collaborative Research Program Grant, "Urban Field Experiences: Evaluating the Impact on preservice teachers' attitudes and interest in teaching." The information from this grant was presented at the WORLD ORGANIZATION FOR PRESCHOOL EDUCATION (OMEP) in Havana Cuba, July 10-15, 2005.

I was part of the Higher Education Mini Grant, 2005 funded by the Weisman Center and University of Wisconsin Systems, to promote on-line course and program development. This minigrant was to advance quality professional development experiences for early childhood education.

Published an article, "Early childhood from the Top: OMEP Leadership in the United States, OMEP-USNC Newsletter, Fall 2005 pages 22-27 (on-line OMEP).

As Past President of the United States National Committee of the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (USNC-OMEP), I continue to network with early childhood leaders in the United States and throughout the world.
