Applying To Our Program

The Professional Counseling Department admits graduate students every fall semester. Completed applications are due by January 15 to the Office of Graduate Studies for consideration for summer admissions.

Applications received after the January 15 deadline will be considered in the next application cycle.

completed application is one that provides both the materials submitted by the applicant and all required materials provided by other sources, such as references and MAT score.

Applications are considered complete by the January 15 deadline only if all application materials have been received in the Office of Graduate Studies by January 15.

  6. Miller Analogies Test (MAT) 
  7. Official undergraduate transcripts
  8. Current resume

Admission in full standing requires:

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university or college
  • A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 overall or 3.25 in the last one-half (4.00 scale)
  • Counseling related experience preferred
  • Two letters of reference and the reference form
  • A completed application supplement 
  • College of Education and Human Services disclosure statement
  • An individual and group interview with department faculty members, current students and candidates for admission
  • Current resume
