Master of Science in Education - Literacy
The Master of Science in Education (MSE) – Literacy provides licensed teachers the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge, and dispositions related to literacy and literacy leadership. Program completers often use their new knowledge, skills, and dispositions to provide school or district leadership for literacy programs. Other program completers lead specialized programs such as Title I or RTI or serve as literacy coaches.
Licenses
Candidates within the master’s program can seek Wisconsin licenses 1316 – Reading Teacher and 5017 – Reading Specialist.
A specialized program, the Reading Specialist Track within the Master’s, is available for those who already hold the 1316 – Reading Teacher license.

The Leadership, Literacy and Social Foundations department offers graduate programs for experienced educators wishing to specialize in literacy instruction and literacy leadership.
