Outstanding Alumni

Jamie Pollard

Jamie Pollard earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1987 from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business. He was named outstanding alumnus of the college in 2006.

As Director of Athletics for Iowa State University, he is responsible for leading their athletics program, including the fundraising for a $135 million athletic facility master plan. His arrival at Iowa State was preceded by the University of Wisconsin (1998-05); the University of Maryland (1994-98); Saint Louis University (1989-1994) and Arthur Andersen in Milwaukee.

The financial plan Pollard authored, “Keeping Big Red in the Black”, helped the University of Wisconsin Athletics climb out of debt, renovate Camp Randall Stadium and build a $15 million reserve. He was chosen 2002 Business Manager of the Year by the Collegiate Athletic Business Managers Association, an organization for which he served as president.

In 2003, Pollard was the first intercollegiate sports administrator to receive Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal’s “Top Forty Under 40” award. He is also a member of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s athletic hall of fame and is one of the University’s outstanding young alumni.
