James W. Freer
James W. Freer earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1969 and his master’s degree in 1976 from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business Administration. He was honored as outstanding alumnus in 1999.
He is currently vice chancellor for administrative affairs at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. He has worked in the University of Wisconsin System since 1970. Prior to joining UW Whitewater, he served as chief accountant for UW Oshkosh and controller/budget officer for UW Stout.
Some of his community activities include board member and chair of the Fort Health Care System, board member and chair of the Higher Learning Commission, and member and officer in Optimist International.
His wife, Patricia, attended UW Oshkosh and graduated from UW Stout with a bachelor’s degree in business. She received a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from UW Whitewater. She is currently director of The University Center and Dining services at UW Whitewater. They have two daughters, Stephanie and Rachel, and a six year old granddaughter, Abigale.
