Dr. James Tobin, Chemistry and Physics Academic Staff Emeritus, has been named Fellow of the American Vacuum Society “for crucial contribution to present understanding of 5f electron states in actinides by means of advanced spectroscopic methods”. His award will be presented at the AVS 71st International Symposium and Exhibition in Charlotte, North Carolina, in September.
