As I welcomed our campus community to the first State of UWO forum on Feb. 10, I was filled with a deep sense of pride and optimism for where we are as a university. Over the past year, we’ve worked intentionally to strengthen our institution’s stability and build momentum that touches every corner of our campus.

While overall spring 2026 enrollment reflects a modest year-over-year decline, the pace of that decline is slowing considerably, and early indicators for fall show encouraging gains in first-year admits, confirmed students and Titan Takeoff registrations—proof that our recruitment strategies are gaining traction and resonating with future Titans.

Our Oshkosh Infinite strategic planning process continues to deepen engagement across the community, and our disciplined financial stewardship has led to a strengthened fund balance and operational resilience.

Across academic and student affairs, we’re doubling down on intentional, data-informed support structures—from federally funded retention programs like TRIO and locally supported initiatives like our Titan Tough investment in first-gen and rural-community students to expanded mental health and engagement initiatives—that reflect our commitment to student success. And at every turn, shared governance groups are helping shape the policies and priorities that will carry us forward.

None of this progress is accidental; it’s born of strategy, partnership and the collective effort of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community collaborators working together toward a shared vision for UWO’s future.

I invite you to watch the full State of UWO forum and join us in reflecting on what we’ve accomplished—and what’s ahead…
