As the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh approaches its storied anniversary, I am calling on Titans near and far to unite for a day of pride, purpose and philanthropy.
One month from today, the university will host its annual Titans Day of Giving on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, a 24-hour online fundraising celebration that marks the anniversary of the first day of classes at Oshkosh Normal School in 1871.
Sept. 12 is not just a date in our history—it’s a day that reminds us who we are and where we came from. It’s a day to wear black and gold proudly, to reflect on the impact this university has made, and to invest in its future.
An annual tradition, the Giving Day campaign encourages alumni, students, faculty, staff, community supporters and UWO partners to make a gift—of any amount—to the area of the university that matters most to them. From scholarships to sustainability, athletics to academics, every donation goes directly toward enhancing the UWO student experience.
This is more than a fundraising effort. It’s a community moment. When you give to UWO on Titans Day of Giving, you show that you believe in the transformational power of education. You’re helping us shape tomorrow’s leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs and professionals. And you are investing in the development of talent that helps communities throughout and beyond the Fox Valley region grow and thrive.
The 2024 Titans Day of Giving surpassed its goal, and UWO is aiming to do the same in 2025. Donors will also be invited to share personal stories and memories from their time at UWO, building a collective tapestry of Titan pride.
I encourage supporters to spread the word on social media and through personal networks. Gifts can be made easily and securely all day on Sept. 12 through the university’s Giving Day website.

Every gift counts. Every story matters. Every Titan has a role to play. Let’s come together and celebrate the past while fueling our future.
Go Titans!
