CAPP Tutoring
CAPP Tutoring at CAR
CAR is excited to provide group tutoring and exam review sessions for local area high school students.
CAPP Tutoring Information
-
CAR will decide which CAPP courses will be supported and train tutors to facilitate large group review sessions.
-
Instructors will be informed of the tutors and the scheduled session times.
Session Logistics
-
Sessions will be 1 hour long and regularly scheduled to promote consistent review of material (not just exam review sessions.)
-
A public calendar for CAPP sessions will be shared with instructors, tutors, and students.
-
Sessions will take place in the Student Success Center (classrooms 100 and 101)
-
Students will sign up via QR code at least one day in advance.
-
If no students have signed up, CAR will email instructors the morning of the scheduled session to let them know the session is cancelled. This is to respect the tutors’ time and allow them enough time to adjust their day as necessary.
-
-
CAPP students will check in at the CAR front desk.
-
The first session will include an orientation introducing students to the center, Titan Web (to find ID numbers) and the expectations of the sessions, how to get a Titan ID, etc.
-
A recorded orientation session will also be sent to instructors to add to the Canvas page for students to view if they were unable to attend the first session.
-
-
Sessions will be periodically observed to ensure quality of the service.
Expectations for CAPP Tutors
-
Assist students during sessions and provide quality content review and study prep.
-
Tutors are not expected to provide additional help via email, text, etc. outside of review sessions unless students schedule a session through Navigate.
-
Tutors are not expected to plan for students who cannot attend in person. If tutors choose to share materials, they will be sent to the instructor, who can add them to Canvas for everyone after the session is over.
-
-
Tutor contact information will not be given out to students or parents/guardians. Any questions can be directed to car@uwosh.edu.
Expectations of Students
-
These sessions take place on a college campus. Students are expected to show respect for their tutor, other students, and staff of the department.
-
Come prepared with notes, note-taking materials, questions, and ready to engage.
-
Arrive on time.
Parking Information
-
Street parking is available on John Avenue, Scott Avenue, Cherry Street, and Wisconsin Street

Students will use this QR code to sign up for sessions. Students should sign up at least one day in advance. Any session that has no students signed up the day before will be cancelled.
