About Steve (Personal)

Dr. Schilhabel brings a practical and entrepreneurial perspective to both his research and teaching.

He funded his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) through early involvement in cryptocurrency, using Bitcoin trading and mining to pay for his doctoral education. This experience continues to inform his interest in emerging technologies and digital economies.

He is also a hands-on builder and creator, having developed his own Bitcoin mining systems and built a custom stand-up arcade machine.
